Optimal brain and body health using Functional and Osteopathic Medicine

Functional and Osteopathic Medicine are both holistic approaches that analyse body systems and how they are influenced by their environment in order to tailor treatment to the individual.  Functional medicine encompasses the use of nutrition, lifestyle, and supplementation when needed, while osteopathic medicine utilises these modalities in addition to manual therapy to assist the body’s natural healing capacity.

Functional and osteopathic medicine are very much aligned in their approaches.

Each of us have a unique healthy story that brought us to where we are today. Functional and osteopathic medicine both seek to find the root cause(s) of illness by continually asking “why” and therefore consider things that may seem unrelated such as treating skin conditions by treating the gut or treating headaches by analysing joint movement in the upper back.

In doing so, both practices understand that the body has an inherent capacity to heal itself, when given what it needs.  The solutions are naturally supportive of all of the body’s systems and aim to restore balance in all in order to achieve total health and well-being.
