Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial Osteopathy is a form of classical osteopathy that uses a sensitive and refined touch to diagnose and treat strains and dysfunction in the body and head. This act of “listening to the tissues” highlights where the body and head have been affected by past accidents and injuries and restores balance by releasing the areas of tension with gentle pressure that encourages the unrestricted flow of all fluids and energy in the body. In this way, improvements are not only felt in the symptomatic areas but in the whole body, as in any osteopathic treatment. The treatment is often very relaxing and it is not uncommon for people to fall asleep, demonstrating its ability to calm the nervous system.

Cranial osteopathy is commonly used with infants and children because of its gentle nature but it is equally effective with adults namely for those who have suffered any kind of traumatic brain injury where heavier techniques may not be appropriate.
